Part 1

What Is Guess What Energy™?

This is the whole philosophy. Read this first — everything else builds on it.

The Framework
Guess What Energy™

You know that energy you have when you text a friend: "Guess what happened at work today..."

You didn't rehearse. You didn't overthink. You just told the story — excited, real, and totally you.

That's the energy that wins interviews. Not a script. Not a perfect answer. Just that.

1
Think of it like a text to a friend Before you answer anything, picture yourself telling someone you trust. That relaxed, real energy — that's your starting point.
2
Start with the story, not the answer Lead with a real moment from your career. Context makes you memorable. A list of skills doesn't.
3
Stay in the room It's not just how you start — it's staying present, curious, and genuinely engaged for the whole conversation.
Part 2

Find Your Stories.

The best interview stories aren't the ones you rehearsed — they're the ones you'd text a friend about. Write the first thing that comes up. Messy is fine. That's usually the real one.

Prompt 01 — The One You'd Text About
"Guess what happened when I was working on [project or situation]..."
If you'd text a friend about it, it belongs in an interview. Start with the moment. Don't clean it up yet.
Prompt 02 — The One You're Underselling
What's the story you're most proud of — but almost never bring up?
The one where you figured it out when no one else could. The one that sounds bigger when someone else hears it.
Prompt 03 — The One That Shows Range
Tell me about a moment that was hard — and what you did anyway.
Difficult situation. Tricky team. A problem that landed in your lap. How you handled it says more than any scripted answer ever could.
Part 3

Build Your Real Questions.

Here's what most interview prep skips entirely — and what people wish they'd done.

You're not just trying to impress them. You're figuring out if you even want this.

The best questions don't come from Googling "questions to ask in an interview." They come from knowing what actually matters to you — what a good day looks like, what made you want to leave your last job, what you genuinely need to do your best work.

Your questions are yours. That's exactly why you'll remember them.
Why this works: When your questions come from what you actually value, you ask them with real conviction. You're not performing curiosity — you genuinely want to know. Interviewers feel the difference. So will you.
What does a genuinely good day at work look like for you?
Think about the last time you left work feeling good. What actually happened that day?
What made you leave — or want to leave — your last job?
The micromanagement. The chaos. The manager who didn't lead. Name it so you can ask about it.
What do you actually need to do your best work?
Tools? Autonomy? Clear direction? A team that actually communicates? Name it — then ask if this place has it.
Where are you trying to go from here?
Not what they want to hear — where YOU are actually headed. Does this role support that?
Now write your question.
Based on everything you just figured out — what's the one question you need to ask in this interview to know if this is actually the right place for you?
